Through the SES program, EGroup Learning’s Middle School Writing Program is FREE to eligible students in grades 6, 7 and 8. Our course improves overall English Language Arts achievement through sound teaching methods and customized materials aligned to state standards. Individual assistance and learning plans help students measurably improve their academic performance and gain the confidence to become better communicators in school and in every day life.

EGroup has a track record of successfully partnering with schools to provide additional instruction that has increased the academic achievement of middle school students from low-income families attending schools receiving Title I funds.  Our curriculum is based on best practices for improving student performance and has been reviewed by educators and parents, approved by the California State Board of Education and given the Seal of Approval from the National Parenting Center. Documented student success for English Learners has shown significant improvement, which has resulted in reclassification from basic to proficient and the return to mainstream classrooms for many.

    Fun, interesting and challenging activities that cover the following core ELA skills:

  • Essay and Letter Writing- how to write a good paragraph or a letter

  • Transitions- how to move from one idea to the next

  • Reading comprehension- the 5 basic steps to becoming a better reader

  • Vocabulary building

  • Speaking/listening skills- eye contact, how to be a good listener, group participation

  • Logic, critical thinking and reasoning ability

    SES is a government-funded tutoring program that takes place after school or on weekends under the provisions of the “No Child Left Behind Act”.   If your child is enrolled in an eligible school district, then contact your school’s counselor, principal or Title 1 Coordinator to see if they may register for this FREE program.
